Noise Violations (EBRP): If you make or cause any loud and raucous noise in the parish that is offensive to residents and interferes with public peace and comfort, it will cost you a fine of $200-$500 and/or imprisonment up to 30 days.

 

To report noise violations (BRPD): First call your landlord, then call Baton Rouge Police Department Communications at 389-2000 to have an officer dispatched to the area to investigate the complaint. The officer will determine what action should be taken.

 

Parking Violations (EBRP): If you stop, stand, or park a vehicle on a sidewalk, in front of a public or private driveway, on the grass in the front yard of a residence, or at any place where signs prohibit such, it will cost you a fine of up to $1,000 and/or imprisonment up to 6 months.

 

Blight Penalties (EBRP): If you maintain premises that display the following conditions that are hazardous to the health and safety of the public and/or conditions which are detrimental to the quality of the environment: build-up of trash and litter; noxious weeds; infestation of rodents and insects; inoperable vehicles; dilapidated structures; alcohol beverage control violations; etc., it will cost you a fine of up to $500 and/or imprisonment up to 30 days.

 

Grass ordinance (EBRP): If you allow your grass and weeds to reach over twenty-four inches lasting for more than a two week time period, it will cost you a labor fee to the Department of Public Works who will cut the grass on your behalf. Additional misdemeanor offenses and fines can be placed on you.

 

Graffiti Ordinance (EBRP): No person shall place graffiti on immovable or movable property, whether publicly or privately owned, without the consent of the owner. "Graffiti" includes but is not limited to any sign, inscription, design, drawing, diagram, etching, sketch, symbol, lettering, name, or marking as to deface the property and be visible to the general public. Punishable by a fine up to $500 or imprisoned for not more than 6 months, or both.
