False Identification (LA and EBRP): If you use a fake ID to gain entry into a bar, liquor store, restaurant, etc., to purchase alcohol, it will cost you a $500 fine and/or 30 days imprisonment. In EBRP, it will cost you a fine of up to $1,000 and/or up to 6 months imprisonment.

 

Unlawful Purchase of Alcohol by Persons on Behalf of Persons Under 21 (LA): If you purchase alcohol for a person under 21 and you are not that person's spouse, parent, or legal guardian, it will cost you a $500 fine and/or 30-day imprisonment.

 

Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles (under 18) (LA): If you entice, aid, solicit, or permit someone 17 or under to visit a place where alcohol is the principal commodity, it will cost you varied sanctions by type of violation.

 

Unlawful Sales (of alcoholic beverages) to Persons Under 21 (LA): If you sell or deliver any alcoholic beverage to a person under 21, it will cost you a $250 fine and/or 6 months imprisonment.

 

Purchase & Public Possession of Alcoholic Beverages by Persons Under 21 (EBRP): If you are under 21 and purchase or publicly possess an alcoholic beverage, it will cost you a fine of up to $100 and/or imprisonment up to 6 months.

 

Unlawful Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages by Persons Under 21 (EBRP): If you are under 21 and consume any alcoholic beverage without the knowledge, presence, and consent of a parent, spouse (age 21 or older), or legal custodian or for any reason other than an established medical or religious purpose, it will cost you a fine of $300 and/or 6 months imprisonment.

 

Possession of Alcohol in Motor Vehicles (LA): If you or your passengers possess an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, it will cost you a $100 fine and loss of driver's license.

 

Drinking in a Motor Vehicle (EBRP): If you consume or possess an alcoholic beverage while operating or riding in a motor vehicle or possess an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, it will cost you a fine of up to $125 and imprisonment for 10 days-6 months.

 

Underage Driving Under the Influence (LA): If you are under 21 and operate any type of motor vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages, it will cost you a $100-250 fine on first conviction and participation in a court approved substance abuse/driver improvement program.

 

Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (LA): If you operate any motor vehicle, aircraft, watercraft, or vessel while under the influence of alcoholic beverages and/or have a BAC of 0.08% or more, it will cost you a $300-$1,000 fine on first offense and 10 days-6 months imprisonment.

 

Vehicular Homicide (LA): If you kill a human being by operating a motor vehicle, watercraft, aircraft, etc., while under the influence of alcohol, and/or have a BAC of 0.08% or more, it will cost you a $2,000-$15,000 fine and 2-20 years imprisonment and participation in a court approved substance abuse/driver improvement program.

 

Vehicular Negligent Injuring (LA): If you inflict injury upon a person by operating a motor vehicle, watercraft, aircraft, etc., under the influence of alcohol, and/or have a BAC of 0.08% or more, it will cost you a fine of up to $1,000 and/or 6 months imprisonment and 90 days driver's license suspension (180 days if under 21).

 

Unlawful Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test to Determine BAC (LA): If you refuse to submit to a chemical test while under arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (if two previous refusals, a fatality, or serious bodily harm has occurred), it will cost you a fine from $300-$1,000 and 10 days-6 months imprisonment.

 

Public Drinking Prohibited (EBRP): If you carry or drink an alcoholic beverage from any open container on a public street, sidewalk, right of way, park playground, or any areas designated as an "alcohol free zone", it will cost you a fine of up to $500 and/or imprisonment for up to 6 months.
